On January 21, 2024, around 5:43 p.m. the victim, 21, pulled into an apartment complex parking lot near Mayfield Road and Cleveland Heights Boulevard in Cleveland Heights. Rayshaun Hickman, Keshon Fussell Johnson, and Dannel Mason were waiting inside the apartment complex. The first male approached the victim’s vehicle and entered. The second male exited the apartment complex and approached the vehicle. An argument ensued between the victim and the first male in the car. The second male pointed a firearm at the vehicle as the third male exited the apartment complex and ran toward them.

The victim began to honk his horn and the second male put his gun away. The third male opened the victim’s driver’s side door and grabbed a plastic bag out of the vehicle. The second and third males started to run away but stopped and waited for the first male. As the victim attempted to drive away, the first male exited the vehicle, fired his gun, and shot the victim in the face. After, the victim drove out of the parking lot and around the building for help. All three males then fled the scene on foot.

The Cleveland Heights Police Department and the Cleveland Heights Fire Department responded to the scene. They located the victim in his vehicle and transported him to the nearest hospital to be treated for his injuries. On January 22, Johnson was arrested.
