CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that Ray Agosto, 40, was sentenced to 18-22.5 years in prison and Dakota Greene, 26, was sentenced to 28-32 years in prison for shooting at officers in Cleveland. Wayne Agosto, 32, was previously sentenced to 25-30.5 years in prison.

“For almost a month, these three individuals terrorized the west side of Cleveland in a violent crime spree. They will be spending decades behind bars and have earned every minute of it. We are thankful no Cleveland police officers were injured.”

On September 30, 2024, a female approached four male victims, ages 21, 23, 30, and 33, and talked to them in a parking lot near Pearl Road and Denison Avenue in Cleveland. The males told the female to leave. She later returned with Dakota Greene, and they entered a diner. Greene and the female then exited the diner, and Greene approached the four males. Greene flashed a firearm, shot at the males, and then fled the scene. The victims called the police, and the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) responded to the scene.

From October 22, 2024, to October 25, 2024, Ray Agosto forced entry into his downstairs neighbor’s, 56-year-old female, doorway near Munn Road and West 159th Street in Cleveland. He chest bumped into her husband, age 66, and threatened to “beat the f*** out of [the victims].” Later, the victims found shell casings under their car hood. On October 26, 2024, the victims reported the incident at the police department.

On October 23, 2024, Ray Agosto drove to the victims’, a 35-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, residence near Ferman Avenue and South Hills Drive in Cleveland. Ray and the male victim were in an ongoing dispute over a vehicle. Ray then shot at their residence and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Additionally, Ray sent threatening text messages to the male victim. The victims called the police and CDP responded to the scene.

On October 27, 2024, Ray Agosto and Dakota Greene drove in multiple vehicles to the same residence Ray drove to on October 23. They shot at a vehicle parked in the driveway and fled the scene. The victims called the police and CDP responded to the scene.

On October 28, 2024, Ray Agosto approached his downstairs neighbor, a 56-year-old female, again at her door near Munn Road and West 159th Street in Cleveland because he forgot his keys. When she opened the door, Agosto had a firearm in his hand and a knife on him. He attempted to punch her in the face but hit the wall. The victim’s husband, age 66, heard Agosto and shut the front door. Agosto then fled the scene. The victims called the police and CDP responded to the scene.

Later the same day, Ray Agosto, Wayne Agosto, Dakota Greene, and Dylan Mitchell were near Denison Avenue and West 31st Street in Cleveland. CDP officers were already in that area actively searching for Ray Agosto regarding the above incidents. Wayne Agosto then fired multiple times at the officers and the officers returned fire. Ray Agosto and Dakota Greene then fled the scene. Wayne Agosto and Dylan Mitchell were arrested on scene and Wayne was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Dakota Greene was later located at an apartment complex and arrested. The next day near 131st Street in Cleveland, Ray Agosto was arrested after a two-hour stand-off with the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Cleveland SWAT Team, and CDP.

The investigation was conducted by CDP.

On August 18, 2025, Ray Agosto pleaded guilty on the following charges:

  • Two counts of Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer
  • One count of Aggravated Burglary
  • One count of Improperly Discharging a Firearm at or into a Habitation or School Safety Zone
  • Three counts of Having Weapons Under Disability
  • One count of Aggravated Riot
  • One count of Inducing Panic
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence

Today, he was sentenced to 18-22.5 years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to three additional unrelated cases that were included in the sentence.

On August 11, 2025, Dakota Greene pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Three counts of Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • Three counts of Having Weapons Under Disability
  • One count of Breaking and Entering
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence

Today, he was sentenced to 28-32 years in prison.

On August 12, 2025, Wayne Agosto pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Four counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Having Weapons Under Disability

He was previously sentenced to 25-30.5 years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to three additional unrelated cases that were included in the sentence.

On March 25, 2025, Dylan Mitchell pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • One count of Having Weapons Under Disability
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence

On April 15, 2025, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
