CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging 18-year-old Nashawn Jordan (17 at the time of the offense) and 17-year-old Cameren Bradford with aggravated murder, among other charges, for shooting and killing 27-year-old Vasyl Shvets in February 2026.

“Vasyl Shvets fled the war in Ukraine to seek safety in Cleveland. While simply trying to earn a living, he was gunned down by these two thugs.”
– Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley
On February 10, 2026, Nashawn Jordan and Cameren Bradford asked another juvenile in Arizona to order a Lyft ride to pick him and Cameren Bradford up in the area of East 118th Street. Lyft driver Vasyl Shvets picked up Nashawn Jordan and Cameren Bradford and was in the process of dropping them off at the drop-off location near East 84th Street and Woodland Avenue in Cleveland. While traveling on East 84th Street, the two males attempted to rob Vasyl Shvets and shot him. Afterward, the vehicle crashed into a dumpster on East 84th Street, and Jordan and Bradford fled the scene.
The Cleveland Division of Police (CDP), Cleveland EMS, and the Cleveland Division of Fire responded to the scene. Vasyl Shvets was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation was conducted by CDP’s Homicide Unit. Electronic evidence and DNA linked both Jordan and Bradford to the homicide.
As Jordan and Bradford were both 17 years old at the time of the incident, they were originally charged in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. The State of Ohio filed a mandatory bindover motion, and Judge Nicholas Celebrezze found probable cause, transferring both juveniles to the Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas.
On July 28, 2026, Nashawn Jordan and Cameren Bradford were indicted on the following charges:
- One count of Aggravated Murder
- Two counts of Murder (A & B)
- Two counts of Aggravated Robbery
- Two counts of Felonious Assault
They will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
