CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Timmeka Eggleton, 30, for the murder of her three-year-old son.

“It is not very often in your career where you have two separate cases in one week charging a parent for murdering their child. My heart breaks for everyone that loved this boy. As a parent, it is horrific to think that a mother would kill her three-year-old son.”

On June 14, 2023, Eggleton’s three-year-old child was reported unresponsive in a stroller in a store near East 79th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. The Cleveland Division of Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene. The child was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Upon further investigation by the Cleveland Division of Police, it was revealed that Eggleton provided false information about the events leading up to her child’s death. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled the victim’s death a homicide resulting from blunt-force trauma.

This matter remains under investigation.

On June 28, 2023, Timmeka Eggleton was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Murder
  • Two counts of Murder
  • One count of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Endangering Children

She will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
