CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that Jeffrey Grant, 35, and Lanaemarshe Grant, 34, were found guilty on all charges for shooting and killing 10-year-old Kaden Coleman in February 2025. They will be sentenced on March 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.

On February 7, 2025, a 35-year-old male was backing out of his driveway near East 147th Street and Edgewood Avenue in Cleveland. A 36-year-old female was in the passenger seat and her 10-year-old son, Kaden Coleman, was in the backseat. Jeffrey Grant and the unknown male drove to the area of the residence in a rental car and approached the vehicle. The vehicle was shot multiple times and then they fled the scene. One of the bullets struck Kaden Coleman in the head.
The male and female then drove Kaden to Cleveland’s Fourth District police station where he was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced deceased.
After further investigation, the police executed a warrant at a residence in Maple Heights. They discovered a drug lab in the basement with large amount of drugs including over 550 grams of cocaine. Lanaemarshe Grant and Jeffrey Grant were present and arrested. Surveillance footage, clothing, cellphone data and records, and the rental car linked Jeffrey Grant to the homicide.
On February 13, 2026, Jeffrey Grant was found guilty by a jury on the following charges:
- Three counts of Aggravated Murder
- Two counts of Murder
- Two counts of Attempted Murder
- One count of Involuntary Manslaughter
- Four counts of Felonious Assault
- One count of Possession of Cocaine
- One count of Trafficking in Cocaine
- One count of Possessing Criminal Tools
On February 13, 2026, Lanaemarshe Grant was found guilty by a jury on the following charges:
- One count of Involuntary Manslaughter
- One count of Possession of Cocaine
- One count of Trafficking in Cocaine
- One count of Possessing Criminal Tools
Additionally, Judge Michael Shaughnessy found them both guilty of the following charge:
- One count of Having Weapons While Under Disability
They will be sentenced on March 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.
