CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Gregory Moore, 51, in the 2013 downtown Cleveland homicide of Aliza Sherman.

On March 24, 2013, Aliza Sherman arrived for a meeting with her divorce attorney, Gregory Moore, at 55 Erieview Plaza in downtown Cleveland. While waiting outside the Stafford Law Company office building, she was stabbed multiple times. Afterward, Aliza Sherman called the police. A good Samaritan found her lying on the sidewalk and also called the police. She was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced deceased.

The investigation was conducted by the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cleveland Division of Police, with assistance from the Cleveland Office of the FBI and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department. Moore was arrested by the U.S. Marshals around 3:30 p.m. on May 2, 2025, in the vicinity of Austin, Texas.

On May 2, 2025, Gregory Moore was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Murder
  • One count of Conspiracy
  • Six counts of Murder (Murder A and Murder B)
  • Two counts of Kidnapping

He will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
