CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Christopher Manning, 25, for the shooting that occurred at the Metroparks Euclid Beach in Cleveland in July 2025, killing Jarvis Perryman.

On July 3, 2025, at 12:35 a.m., Jarvis Perryman, 20, a 17-year-old male, and additional friends were walking in Euclid Beach Park in Cleveland when they were approached by Christopher Manning. Manning began accosting the victims and arguing with them. Manning then retrieved a gun from his backpack and fired multiple times at the two victims. Both victims were struck, and Manning fled the scene. The Cleveland Metroparks Police Department (CMPD), the Cleveland Division of Police, and Cleveland EMS responded to the scene. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The 20-year-old victim was pronounced deceased. The 17-year-old victim was treated for his injuries.

On July 15, 2025, Christopher Manning was arrested by CMPD. The investigation was conducted by CMPD, and surveillance video, witness testimony, and physical evidence linked Manning to the crimes.

On July 23, 2025, Christopher Manning was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Murder
  • Two counts of Murder (Murder A and Murder B)
  • One count of Attempted Murder
  • Four counts of Felonious Assault

He will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
