CLEVELAND – The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging 46-year-old Natalie McDaniel, wife of the mayor of Cleveland Heights, for trespassing into a Cleveland Heights resident’s home.

According to video surveillance, on July 30, 2025, around 10:37 a.m. Natalie McDaniel approached a residence from the sidewalk on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights. Natalie McDaniel walked into the front yard, bent down, and appeared to take a photograph of a recall Mayor Seren yard sign. After taking the picture, she approached the front door of the residence. She walked directly to the wrought iron front door and entered the residence without permission.

McDaniel was inside the home for approximately 17 seconds before exiting. After exiting the residence, McDaniel appeared to take a photograph of a landmark sign on the front of the residence. McDaniel then proceeded to walk around the exterior of the residence to the back of the residence before exiting the property. McDaniel was on the property for approximately 3 ½ minutes. The residents saw McDaniel on their security system and called the Cleveland Heights Police Department (CHPD).

The initial investigation was conducted by the CHPD and was referred to the CCPO.

On August 8, 2025, Natalie McDaniel was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Trespass in a Habitation When a Person is Present or Likely to be Present (F4)
  • One count of Criminal Trespass (M4)

The CCPO declines to interview or comment further at this time.

She will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
